The Japanese company Fujitsu introduced the laptop Lifebook WU-X/G2. According to the manufacturer, this is the lightest device in its class: its weight is only 634 grams.
The Lifebook WU-X/G2 is equipped with a 12th generation Intel Core processor. The user is given a choice of versions with Core i5-1235U or Core i7-1255U. RAM is dual-channel LPDDR4x with 8GB, 16GB, and 32GB, while the SSD ranges from 256GB to 2TB.
The laptop is equipped with a 13.3-inch Full HD screen, as well as an HD webcam covered by a shutter. The Lifebook supports Bluetooth 5.1 and Wi-Fi 6, and at the ends of the device there are two USB Type-C connectors with Thunderbolt 4 support, one USB 3.2 Gen 1 port, an RJ45 network interface, an SD card slot, an HDMI connector and a 3.5-inch mm mini jack.
The body of the device is made of carbon fiber, thanks to which Fujitsu managed to achieve low weight. The dimensions of the laptop are 307 × 197 × 15.5 mm.
It is important to note that the compact dimensions of the device did not affect autonomy in the best way. So, Lifebook is equipped with a battery capacity of 25 Wh — this is about half the battery capacity of an average laptop. However, according to the manufacturer, Lifebook WU-X/G2 is able to work up to 11 hours without connecting to the network.
In addition, the user has the opportunity to connect an external optical drive to the Lifebook WU-X / G2 — disk storage is still in demand in Japan.
The novelty is available only in the Japanese market, the price of the basic version with Core i5 and 8/256 GB of memory is $ 1,370 (≈ 83,000 rubles) and $ 1,675 (≈ 101,000 rubles) for the top configuration with Core i7, 32 GB of RAM and 2 TB.
