The updated 10th generation iPad has already entered mass production ahead of the fall release. For the first time in a long time, the tablet received significant design changes. It is reported by the Taiwanese edition of DigiTimes, citing insiders.

While DigiTimes won’t go into details, earlier leaks have mentioned that the iPad 10 will have a larger 10.5-inch display with thinner bezels. For comparison, the current ninth generation has a 10.2-inch screen. Also, the new version will switch to USB-C, which other lines of Apple tablets have already done.

Flat side faces and a protruding camera module on the back were also reported. The base iPad will retain Touch ID, but it will lose the headphone jack. The current models of the Pro, Air and mini lines do not have it either, so the decision is expected.

Another couple of expected major improvements are 5G support and the A14 Bionic processor, as in the iPhone 12 and iPad Air 4th generation.

It is expected that the updated base iPad will be presented in October. Along with it, the iPad Pro with the M2 processor will also be shown. This will be Apple’s second fall presentation: the first, which could take place as early as September 7, will announce the iPhone 14, Apple Watch Series 8, and a rugged version of the Apple Watch for extreme sports enthusiasts. Probably, on the same day, AirPods Pro 2 will also be presented.
