Startup HighLand Systems from the UAE showed the concept of the Kronos submarine. To say that this is a futuristic vehicle is an understatement.
The submarine accommodates ten passengers and one crew member, and is also suitable for both commercial and private transportation. Kronos is powered by diesel and electric engines. The power of the latter is 1,200 horsepower, and two power plants are enough to work without refueling and recharging for 54 hours.
The maximum speed on the surface of the water with an internal combustion engine is 80 km / h, under water — 50 km / h. If the submarine runs on electricity, then it can move through the water at speeds up to 30 km/h. The air supply in Kronos will last for 36 hours, and the full replenishment of the oxygen tank will take only an hour and a half.
The operating depth of the submarine is 100 meters, and the maximum depth is 250 meters. At the same time, the length of the conceptual vessel is 9.25 meters, the width is 7.43 meters, and the height is 2.09 meters. The maximum load capacity of Kronos is 3 tons.
Highland Systems has not yet disclosed details about the cost, production start time and planned production volumes of Kronos. However, it is not a fact that this «starship» will generally leave the prototype stage.
