In the beta version of WhatsApp for iOS, they discovered another feature that is being tested before the release to a wide audience. It will allow chat administrators to delete messages of any users. This will allow more careful moderation of groups, which currently can have up to 256 members.

If a regular user can delete someone’s message only from himself, then the administrator will have «Delete for everyone» in the list of available actions. Previously, this option was only available for own messages.

In parallel, in the beta application for Android, viewing statuses directly from the list of dialogs is being tested. Whatsapp status is similar to stories on Instagram* and VKontakte: videos or photos that are available only 24 hours from the moment of publication. Beta users may see a green circle around the profiles of people who have recently updated their status, no longer needing to open a dialog to do so.

As is usually the case with features in development, there is not even a rough timeline for the release of these two innovations for WhatsApp stable yet.
