Representatives of LastPass, a password manager used by more than 33 million people worldwide, reported a hack. The hackers managed to gain access to the account of one of the developers, which allowed them to steal the source code and sensitive technical data.

According to a LastPass blog post, the company does not believe that any passwords may have been stolen, so users do not need to take any action to secure their accounts.

The investigation revealed that the attackers hacked into the development environment, which is software used by employees to maintain LastPass. It will take time to fully determine the extent of the damage, but at the moment this does not seem to affect customers of the service, the company added.
