Shortly after the shutdown of Stadia, Google announced «the world’s first laptops built for cloud gaming.» In fact, these are three Chromebooks created in collaboration with Acer, ASUS and Lenovo.
The new Acer Chromebook 516 GE, ASUS Chromebook Vibe CX55 Flip, and Lenovo Ideapad Gaming Chromebook offer displays with at least 120Hz refresh rates, resolutions up to 1600p, and support for Wi-Fi 6 or 6E, according to Google. The declared maximum autonomy is 9-11 hours, depending on the model.
These devices can run games through Xbox Cloud Gaming, Amazon Luna, and NVIDIA GeForce Now. Google has worked with NVIDIA to ensure these laptops support RTX 3080 performance levels.
The Lenovo laptop was priced at $599, the Acer starts at $650. This is about 38,700 and 41,200 rubles, respectively. Both will go on sale in the US in October. The price and release date of new items from ASUS have not yet been disclosed.
