The new base iPad should get a major redesign. This has been repeatedly reported by insiders, and now there is a more visual confirmation. Images of the device were shared by Forbes with reference to the Japanese portal Macotakara.
The renders show a tablet in covers from ESR. The gadget is fully consistent with the leaks, which talked about the rejection of the Home button under the display. Probably, the fingerprint scanner will be moved to the power button on the top.
Judging by the cutout on the side of the case, the right side of the device can be used to mount a magnetic stylus. The source also notes the presence of a USB-C port and an M1 process, which is still rather doubtful.
In general, the tablet is very similar to the iPad Air, but it is likely to be much inferior to it in terms of characteristics. We will learn more in the coming weeks — the announcement may take place before the end of October.
